Short Courses: Two to four week short courses where the majority of the course is spent in the field with all teaching activities delivered 


Condensed Semester Abroad: Students complete the equivalent of 4 courses during their visit. Students enjoy field trips linked with their courses such as Marine Ecology at the Moreton Bay Research Station (MBRS), Heron Island Research Station (HIRS) and Terrestrial Ecology taught at Lamington and Carnarvon Gorge National Park. 

Full Semester Abroad: This 12 week program which is the model for the University of California program includes research projects taught as part of their course in Marine Biology. The research projects are taught as part of two field trips to Moreton Bay and Heron Island Research Stations. The Terrestrial Ecology and Australian studies course include three field trips to Lamington, Girraween and Carnarvon Gorge National Parks. 

Modular Semester Abroad: 12 week modular course visiting locations such as Sydney, Cairns, Brisbane as well as Heron Island and Moreton Bay Research Stations and the tropical rainforests of Far North Queensland. 

In the 10 years that these specialist international courses have been run, more than 5000 students have converged with our faculty to make meaningful discoveries, engage in real world learning, and create lifelong friendships.
